HEALTHPARTNERS
HEALTHPARTNERS HAS BEEN A LEADING ORGANIZATION IN MINNESOTA IN OUR WORK TO IMPROVE HEALTH EQUITY, AND WE HAVE A HISTORY OF COLLECTING PATIENT INFORMATION ON RACE, PREFERRED LANGUAGE AND COUNTRY OF ORIGIN SINCE 2005. FURTHERMORE, OUR INFORMATION IS BASED ON THE PATIENT’S OWN PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION OF THESE DATA POINTS, AND WE HAVE HISTORICALLY VERY HIGH COLLECTION RATES.
HealthPartners care group has clinics in locations throughout the area that serve a very diverse patient base, so that clinic reach will help us to serve a larger group of diverse patients as more vaccine becomes available. (Note: Two maps illustrate the diversity of patients in the HealthPartners care group by location to make this point.)
We have created a COVID-19 dashboard to track our testing
and hospitalization rates by race. We used this information as
we planned for drive-up and clinic site testing services and we are adding vaccine to our dashboard to monitor our progress. It will
allow us to identify if there are any barriers associated with the 72-hour goal for vaccinations for priority patients of color, based on additional supports that may be needed for patients to access or feel comfortable with vaccination.
Our vaccination locations are/will be similarly available in areas that serve a high number of diverse patients. Our sites are accessible by bus and light rail, and we have both in person and drive-up vaccination locations.
